It’s him | leah simmers photography | tucson children’s photographer

So while this isn’t my normal type of image, I LOVE IT! Why, cause it’s odd, and it’s him. We went out the other day to get photos finally of my three boys together and in the middle of it all my oldest decided to pick up a big stick, be his silly self and act like an angry deer or something. I normally have to hassle him about all his silly odd ball faces when I try to capture the three of them but this time it was just him, being him with a stick behind his head. bcboyssag126bw

If We Don’t Make It Back | leah simmers photography | tucson photographer

Oh my goodness the fun we have been having in Florida. Ok, so honestly, not just Florida, but Niceville, Florida. Yep you heard right, always makes me chuckle when I get to tell people where we are going exactly. So vacation aways makes for a fun time to capture memories but can you imagine how broken hearted I was to get here and realize my favorite and only lens I decided to bring with me decided to go capoot on me?!!! Oh, yep, it sure did. So I cied inside for a minute or two and then decided it was going to be vacation captured by iphone! ( I did manage to order a lens to rent while here that I should be getting today, halleluyah! In the meantime though, here are a few sneak peeks of our vacation so far and why my kids might not want to head back home:
Print
Reasons why they might not want to come back:
playing in the creek/swamp in back of grandma’s and Pa’s house – making chocolate chp cookies with grandma and getting to munch on the chocolate while doing so – getting to go fully dressed into the ocean – being able to play in the puring rain and not worry about lightening – playing soccer in the front yard with no cars flying by – having snack breaks with Trinny the dog – visiting and riding grandma’s horse at the barn – fireworks in a small town, over the water, music blaring, whole town together, perfect – throwing sand balls out at the ocean – playing and being silly on the beach – goofy golf where their daddy played when little and still $1 a kid and $2.50 an adult – light night Jenga games – finding Five Guys burgers and fries out here – playing at the neighborhood pool everyday and meeting lots of other kids – taking the walk across the fun bridge to get to the pool – and staying up every night way past bedtime giggling until our bellys hurt!
. . . Now on the 4th of July we simply were going to stop in a parking lot so I could get a picture of the big beautiful American Flag flying high but who knew it would also lead to my kids being in a mondo beach ball looking like little hamsters. We saw it and I just had to let them play!

So Sweet | leah simmers photography | Tucson Family Photographer

Oh my goodness, such a sweet family! Mom was super excited to have me photograph her kiddos, poor thing said she couldn’t sleep the night before. I truly had so much fun with these little ones. First off, any time photographing a little baby and getting to hold one, awh, always enjoyable, and the little man . . . sweet as pie and a little model in the making! When I talked to mom later that evening she said she asked her little guy what he thought about the session and me and he said I was ” sorta beautiful ” she tld me. Oh goodness what a way to make me smile. Nothing cuter and sweeter than a little guy telling you that. You rock little dude! Enjoy!

Memorial Day | leah simmers photography | tucson photographer

Sending out thanks to all those that served and have served for our country and keeping those in our thoughts who have passed, fighting for our country. I am so thankful for all of you and your families who have stood by you. You don’t get enough thanks for all you do. Please take teh time to stop and explain this day to your children for what it really means and not just a day of for a BBQ. My kids seriously crack me up on a daily basis with the things they say and do. They truly amaze me all the time. They are all very much all about America! Sure, that sounds like an odd statement but my oldest is the one that will make sure that the pledge is always being said when he is around and if something has an American flag on it, he wants it! Out where we live there is a car dealership that has a huge flag flying outside the dealership, desert Toyota, my kids LOVE this flag. I’m sure they probably just thought to put a flag up but when my kids see it, the flag brings them so much joy. Heck, I love it too. The kids and I love nothing more than to drive by on a windy day to see the flag blowing in the wind ( I can honestly say I drive that way home on purpose on those days because I know how giddy it makes them and I love to hear their happiness ) Here is a quick snap shot below from my phone that I took of it while we passed the other day. Now if you could have heard my kids as we passed, my 7 year old simply says from the backseat as we near the flag, ” it’s gorgeous!”, then my 5 year old quickly replies, ” It’s more better than chocolate.” You know I was thinking, he’s right!

Family Fun | Tucson Family Photographer | leah simmers photography

Fun, fun family session from this weekend. I had a great time running around with these little guys capturing them. They kept me on my toes for sure but hey, that’s what makes for a fun session. I love chasing around the little guys and finding new spots to capture them in when they run around the corner to a parking garage or some really cool bamboo. Check them out:

Let The Wild Rumpus Begin | Tucson photographer | leah simmers photography

Spring is in the air and it’s time for planting! Hubby has been wanting to plant a tree for awhile in the back and we finally decided to give it a try again this weekend ( we have failed a few times in the past, although we came to realize that was because we never dug a big enough hole ). So after much thought we finally ended up bringing home a grapefruit tree. Now if only I knew how much joy this tree would bring already. It started when the people working at the nursery told us to dig a hole 3-4ft x 3-4ft big. So the hole was dug and filled with some fresh soil and water of course. Now what goes with water and dirt? Boys of course! Well ,y two little ones at least. Who am I kidding, my oldest wouldn’t dare get near the dirt, too messy for him. He actually spent an hour or so being mad with me cause I informed his two younger brothers that they could try and toss him in the hole too. Lucky for him, he is fast as lightening! Here are a few captures from my two youngest having the time of their life playing in the mud happy as can be.
