Mini Sessions

blog-mini-sessions.jpg While there are still some openings for full on sessions I thought I would put out a few mini sessions. These might not be for everybody. I recommend the mini sessions for those that already had a session recently and are just looking for an updated image for holiday cards and gifts. These mini sessions run 20 minutes and get you 8-12 images in an online gallery. I strive to get you the image you are hoping for during this time whether it is of the kids or a family image. For full sessions you get the whole shebang, 1-2 hour session, at a location of your choice or home, multiple clothing changes if wanted, family pictures, individual, sibling, posed and images interacting with each other ( real life as I like to say :)  ).  To guarantee images and cards ready in time for the holidays you need to have your session by November 9th. After the 9th I will of course try to get you everything you need in time for the holidays but can’t guarantee it. Keep in mind that deadline is for cards, canvas’ and images; jewelry may differ. Examples of past sessions at Trail Dust Town:b495proofs.jpgb954proofs.jpg  b900proofs-copy.jpg b998proofs.jpg  b135proofs.jpg b071proofs.jpg  Examples of past sessions at Agua Caliente: b158proofs.jpg blog060proofs.jpg  bimg_0122.jpg bweb042proofs.jpg

Sneak Peeks

Here are a few sneak peeks from this weekends session. It was one hot session I have to say, how it can still be over 100 degrees is beyond me. I have so much fun photographing this little cutie. I have been lucky enough to photograph her since she was a couple weeks old and I love watching her change. b770proofs.jpg b786proofs.jpg  b720proofs-tra.jpg

Dog Days of Summer

Seriously, can you get more “dog days of summer” than this? bsummerdogsboys2.jpg bsummerdogsboys.jpg  To think we hit 107 at one point this past week. We knew we had to break out the water slide for another week to enjoy summer before it’s gone.  Everyone had fun on the slide this time; daddy, the three boys and three dogs, it was crazy in there I tell you  but they all had fun.

You have to give it a try

If for no other reason but to get a good laugh at yourself.bmyyearbookphoto.jpg  To see yourself in the 80’s click here ( I did not look like this though :)  My hair went out a lot farther! :)  )

Out of the mouth of a kindergartner

  • Oh dear, the things they say. SoDillon is in kindergarten this year which I have to say he LOVES. Well this morning we are going over the lunch choices for items to buy in the cafeteria so that when his teacher asks him what he wants he doesn’t sit their confused or order the wrong thing. Here is how our conversation went this morning:
  • me- Dillon, you can buy lunch today. They have the pizza sticks you wanted today
  • Dillon- excited and jumps around
  • me- here are the choices they will give you in class today, mexican style pizza and seasoned corn, pizza sticks filled with cheese and dipping sauce, and a chicken wrap. Don’t forget you want the pizza sticks
  • Dillon- what if I forget mom and order the wrong thing, what if I accidently order the mexican pizza
  • me- then that’s what you get to eat
  • Dillon- but I’m American, is that ok?
  • me- laughing inside I tell him it’s fine, then I quickly call my folks to share his silliness

    Being brought to you . . .

Sometimes I look at things and they make me say “mmmm” the kind when you see something yummy!  This new album makes me say “mmm”. This is a new album being brought to you.  With the change of collections I wanted to change things up a bit and start offering some exciting new products that are more me and my style of photography, the fun, colorful, modern products with the option of neutrals too but not the boring same old black plain album that everyone has with no other options ( if you get black this time you get a nice modern black instead of the same traditional black from 40 years ago ). This album will be included in collection 2, what a great way to get yourself some images and an album for yourself or the grandparents at the same time.  This album is considered the “mini album” although it is not so mini and has a big impact. This album is measured at 5×5 and holds your session images nicely bordered. There are also numerous different colors and textures for you to choose from.  blog-finao-elements-product.jpg Hope you love it! More new products to come, I want to bring my clients the best!

    I . . . .

I found this idea on my close friend Ruby’s blog and decided it would be interesting to do on myself, she’s way better with words than I am though

    • I AM … me, I am happy, I love my life
    • I WANT… happiness and laughter for my family always, cupcakes, more kiddos, to always be surrounded by family, to reach new goals, go skiing with my dad, see New York city, to go sliding down a snowy mountain with my mom wearing garbage bags
    • I HAVE …always wanted to experience a little bit of time in another country. Nothing too long but from 10 days to a month
    • I AM … happy to be the person I am and blessed to know the people I know.
    • I KEEP: dreaming and need to act more on those dreams
    • I WISH I COULD … swim, I need to learn, one day I will
    • I HATE … the dark, creepy crawlies, vegetables, cleaning
    • I FEAR …the day I lose any family member
    • I HEAR … uncontrollable laughter of kids and it makes me smile
    • I DON’T THINK … my kids can ever imagine how much I love them, that my husband knows how much he means to me, or my parents know how much I care for them and appreciate all they both taught me
    • I REGRET … nothing, whether I like how things turn out at times or not, I believe everything happens for a reason
    • I LOVE … the smell of rain on the street, when it snows in tucson, pillow fights, jumping on hotel beds, seeing new places, meeting new people and learning their stories
    • I ALWAYS CRY … when alone in bed thinking about my grandmother I miss so much
    • I AM NOT … quiet once you get to know me
    • I DANCE … when it’s just my kids and I being goofy, it gives them a good laugh ( it would give you a good laugh too but I won’t give anyone else that chance :)  )
    • I SING … in the shower sometimes but mainly at the top of my lungs in the car when no one is around and at a normal tone with my kids in the car
    • I NEVER … send hubby off to work without a hug and an I love you
    • I RARELY …wear anything other than flip flops or ugg boots
    • I CRY WHEN I WATCH … army wives ( I’m a sucker, every time it gets me )
    • I AM NOT ALWAYS … confident
    • I HATE THAT … I haven’t started bike riding again, can’t swim, live far from all my family, not as close to my sister as most are
    • I’M CONFUSED ABOUT … ( at the moment ) : How in gymnastics they stay on the little beam, how they can do a floor routine and not look behind them when stepping back to do a pass and not step out of the box, how Phelps gets all these medals and credit but what about our beach volleyball girls having to win so many games and having won over 105 matches in a row but all just to get 1 gold
    • I NEED … get some stuff in order
    • I SHOULD … eat my veggies, workout more,

    A must read!

I recently came across this wonderful and moving story/site titled: dayswithmyfather I found it after reading up on fellow photographer, Braeden’s blog. When you have a couple minutes take the time and check out the fabulous story and images captured by a son of his father and let me know what you think.

    Mr. Personality . . .

I was lucky enough to photograph this little cutie and his parents today.  This little one was so sweet and full of personality. It was hard to stop taking photos of this little guy. This is just one example of why I love to photograph kids. I know many photographers who would rather photograph teens and up because they do as you ask but I love photographing little ones. Little ones are just so real. With little ones, you don’t get the fake smile, you capture them as they are, with their hands in their mouth, pulling on their toes, tugging at their clothes, giggling, etc.  Today was just so much fun photographing this little guy.b510proofs.jpg of course we had our moments, but I love those little moments too  :)  b524-pp-dd.jpg  b534proofs.jpg Daddy was an Oregon Beavers fan, of course the little man is too  :) I have to say that these big eyes spell trouble, speaking from experience of my second one, big, beautiful, innocenteyes like this are there to get them out of the trouble they get into! Next time we’ll have to do a winter session with some fun hats to really draw attention to his beautiful eyes and chubby cheeks that I love!   b565proofs.jpg  b576proofs.jpg  I LOVE this one, it was a quick, last minute thought during the session and I’m so glad it came to me :b574proofs.jpg

    Our box of rocks . . .
